Your Furry Family Member’s Final Journey

Losing a pet is an experience that many can only compare to the loss of a family member. There are mixed emotions and you will be confused as to whether to offer your pet a decent burial or just bury it in a box. If your pawed loved one has left for the beautiful yonder, you can opt to have him or her cremated. The Palmetto cremation society will offer you a list of the available pet cremation service providers in your local area.

The main worry that pet owners have is whether or not their pet will be cremated individually and whether they will be given the correct ashes. Most pet funeral homes will cremate your pet individually just as a human would be cremated individually. It is what you should expect and it is your right to have it done that way.

Your pet will be placed in a hygienic cremation chamber that is usually with a solid hearth. The cremator has a label attached for identification of your pet and the cremation time is recorded in a diary. The label is heat proof and will remain attached to the cremator throughout the entire process. The cremation is done to the point where the only remnants are sterile bone fragments. The remnants are left to cool and then drawn into a container or tray and all traces from the hearth are removed through careful brushing. All remains have to be carefully removed prior to the next cremation commencing. It is inevitable that a few fragments of your pet will remain in the hearth.

The remains drawn from the cremator are bone fragments that are processed in a cremulator which diminishes them into fine ash that is presented to you and which can be stored or scattered. The cremulator is cleaned with much care ad at all times. The ashes are packed into an urn or casket of your choice. The original label remains attached to the ashes and is checked against the original request for the cremation.

When contracting Charleston Pet Rest Pet Cremations, ensure they offer individual cremation services and that the provider does not use terms such as 'cremation on numbered trays’, 'return of ashes service', or even 'private' or 'special' cremation. If you see such descriptions then you should expect that your pet will be cremated together with others. This will mean that your pet remains will be mixed with another’s this is unless of course you do not mind.
