University of Wisconsin Oshkosh integrates ACE Selling into its sales and marketing curriculum

 
SEATTLE, Jan. 10, 2017 --ACE Selling, a book that mirrors a poker hand with the sales process, is pleased to announce the integration of its sales material into the sales and marketing curriculum at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

ACE Selling is a new book about selling that leverages the popularity of poker to deliver an interesting and entertaining take on the sales process. It illustrates how salespeople can increase their sales results by employing the same skills used by today’s top poker professionals.The book is organized around three sections that encompass skills sets related to, Awareness (A), Competitiveness (C), and Execution (E). Each section discusses key skills and how they apply to playing poker and to professional sales.

“It’s fantastic to see ACE Selling moving into the sales and marketing curriculum of universities and colleges”, says Rick Chouinard, the president of ACE Selling.“Many college students are familiar with poker. Showing how these poker skills align with sales skills makes it easier for students to grasp the concepts.”

“The author of ACE Selling gave me some good ideas that led me to develop an in-class exercise with students”, says Bryan Lilly, Ph.D. Marketing Professor, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
“As a sales educator/trainer, it's great when we see an idea and think, "Hmm.. yes, that could be useful in helping people learn… I never thought of it like that.”For example, one of the awareness skills is 'reading people' illustrating how reading people applies at the poker table, and when working with customers. “These ‘Aha!’ moments help us continually develop our intuitions about how to deal with and discuss specific situations. ACE Selling provides these types of moments. In a short amount of time, students can pick up useful nuggets to apply when selling,” added Professor Lilly.

ACE Selling is heading into its 2nd semester of being taught atthe University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.
