[Queensland, November 05, 2014] – The Full Moon Hotel, one of Queensland’s top hotels, launches a luncheon promo for the upcoming Melbourne Cup on 4 November. Horse racing fans get to enjoy a special three-course meal at the hotel whilst watching the country’s fastest horses race to the finish.

Special Menu for the Occasion

The hotel’s head chef has drafted a special three-course menu for the occasion.

For the entrée, the hotel will serve Swiss brown mushroom goat’s cheese, spinach and pine nut cannelloni, celeriac cream Parmesan wafer and micro raddichio or prawn cocktail, Moreton Bay tiger prawns, avocado coriander salsa, and chiffonnade iceberg lettuce and cocktail sauce.

The menu becomes more interesting with the main dishes. The Full Moon Hotel is set to serve grilled Atlantic salmon, potato Rosti, yellow zucchini ribbons, peas, and shellfish buerre blanc. The second choice for the main dish is pan fried veal medallions, potato and pancetta gratin, onion jam, sautéed spinach, and veal glaze. Vegetarians may go for a delectable beetroot salad.

Desserts for the day are Mara’s warm chocolate and hazelnut brownie, Persian vanilla fairy floss with raspberry syrup, and white chocolate strawberry.

The Moon starts serving entrees at 12:30 pm. The hotel will give awards to the best dressed customers of the day and a TAB will be close by for those who want to bet on the horses. Brett Witmore will also provide a musical performance starting at 3pm.

A ticket for the Melbourne Cup Luncheon costs $60 plus a booking fee. Children under 12 years old may come in for free and choose from the kids menu. Customers who book for five or more people in one transaction will receive a bottle of house red, white, or sparkling wine free of charge as a sign of thanks from the hotel.
