The new tech is based on its existing real-time facial recognition capabilities, which is among the fast, lightweight, and accurate facial engines with over 99.67% accuracy*. Also, the version, for the first time, allows the user to directly access the face recognition technology through smartphones.

Using the latest in-app feature, which comes after the company introduced the Public Figures Facial Recognition in December 2016, people can create as well as customize individual AR face profiles. The high-end technology also allows people to connect with other users by scanning their faces either personally or via images. People with Halos will have the absolute control over their personal AR Face Profiles and the content they choose to display to other users.

Blippar was the first company to introduce the real-time facial recognition technology to people, with nearly 70,000 public figures recognized initially. The app has become the largest stock of such AR profiles, as it can now recognize 370,000 public figures.

Blippar has also revealed that the APIs of its Facial Recognition technology will be available to companies on request. Potential clients will be able to license and integrate it into their own applications and products, ranging from building access control to mobile banking transactions and even smart networking.
