Government launches ‘Energy efficiency’ Green Deal

The Government launches the Green Deal which would help householders in making their homes more energy efficient and reduce power bills by providing long term loans.

 
According to campaigners the project would be named as ‘Not stop fuel poverty rocketing’.
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), the launcher of flagship scheme said that hundreds more households than expected had already looked for assessments to join the project.
Nick Clegg, Deputy Prime Minister said that the Green Deal would help thousands of households in staying warm or less. He also said that those people be profited from the energy saving improvements and the scheme would allow their bills to come down. According to him, the UK green sector is the world’s sixth largest green sector and it has played a vital role in building a strong economy.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the Green Deal will provide thousands of jobs and this would not only provide jobs for next few years rather this would offer job opportunities for long-term.
Edward Davey, Energy and Climate Change Secretary appreciated the Green Deal and said, "One can improve the look of home and make your living place cosier and one can also save energy with the help of it. So, I don’t find even a single thing uneasy with it."
