Creating a website can be a daunting task for first-timers. One company is attempting to change is, with the help of an AI-powered chatbot racoon named Winnie.

According to a study by Yodel, 52% of small businesses still don’t have a website. One of the most common reasons for this is that the majority business owners lack the technical knowledge on how to get started.

Winnie aims to solve this by matching a person up with the web hosting service that is best suited to them, based on their answers to a series of simple jargon-free questions.

You can also ask Winnie questions like “What’s the cheapest way to get my website up?” or “Can you show me three options of web hosts that offer a free domain name?” and Winnie will provide you with an answer.

Over the next 12 months, the Venture Harbour team are planning to develop Winnie to help with the entire process of creating a website - from deciding on a domain name, to choosing a theme, and designing a basic web page.
