WLSI starts offering affordable traffic barricades & traffic safety signs to aid traffic calming methods

Almost all of the speeders will slow enough to come into compliance with posted speed limits, too.

Some of the most common traffic calming methods used by traffic control companies are built in at the time of roadway construction. Things like extended curbs, traffic barricades, traffic safety signs, roundabouts, centre medians and forced turn lanes are all considered traffic calming devices. If something forces traffic in one direction or narrows lanes, it has the potential to slow traffic down. But these choices may not always be the best for traffic control companies to regulate traffic flow, even if they do tend to reduce speed.

Cost-Effective Traffic Safety Signs

If an already built area needs traffic calming methods, the most cost-effective way to achieve slower speeds will typically be driver feedback signs. These traffic safety signs are designed make drivers aware of the speed they’re traveling. Traffic barricades cause most drivers to slow down even if they’re already driving at or below the speed limit. Almost all of the speeders will slow enough to come into compliance with posted speed limits, too.

These traffic safety signs don’t provide a physical barrier that forces traffic to slow. However these signs have been shown in study after study to reduce traffic speeds and accident rates. They also won’t interfere with emergency vehicles in the way that physical impediments like speed bumps and narrowed lanes do.

Why they are So Affordable

When traffic control companies undertake a road construction product to install traffic barricades or extend curbs, not only are traffic restricted during the construction, there’s a lot of cost involved, too. Installing traffic signs, by comparison, is a simple, fast job thanks to their modular design. Installing these signs would not affect traffic flow, takes much less time and is therefore less expensive.

A ton of options for very low-cost ongoing use are available as well, such as solar and battery-powered signs instead of those hooked into the electrical grid. But the ones powered by electricity are designed to save energy by allowing traffic control companies a choice of settings and even the ability to program the signs and operate them remotely so they can be turned off if not needed.
