Multiple Jewellery award winner Tresor Paris is proud to be sponsoring this season’s Canary Wharf Ice Rink and last night (12th Nov at 7:45pm) broke the world record for The Longest Conga on Ice with the help of 352 guests. All donations from the event will go to BBC Children in Need and the conga will be bought to you on BBC on Friday night. As well as these donations, Tresor Paris have collaborated with BBC Children in Need to create a gorgeous jewellery range with 25% of all proceeds going to the charity.
With Pudsey leading the way on the ice the participants had three attempts to beat the world record, and successfully did on their final attempt. With people from all walks of life participating from tiny tots to business men the conga wound its way round the Big Blue sculpture designed by Ron Arad and continued round the 1100m2.rink.
The guests were helped along with support from the London Bulldogs Ice Hockey team and Got To Dance competitors Ruff Diamond – who performed a brilliant routine after the conga (not on the ice!) A huge thank you also goes to Richard Blackwood for attending and XYRA & Brick City who fronted the conga as well.
Tresor Paris’ glittering ice skating boots, which drew in crowds of admirers, will be auctioned on Friday night to one lucky person. As the only pair in the world they are worth £4,995, and expected to fetch a whopping £10,000 for the charity.
Canary Wharf Ice Rink in association with Tresor Paris is open until 16th February 2014, and closed only on Christmas Day, it is sure to bring months of happiness to London.
The magical location features one of the biggest outdoor ice rinks in the UK, an on-site Jukebox bar by Boisdale with a retro-themed menu, an outdoor viewing terrace and best of all a Tresor Paris pop up shop, allowing visitors a chance to leave dripping in crystals!
