If you are wondering why your teeth are turning yellow when you brush your it regularly, it is maybe because of what you eat and drink. Let's have a look on these food and drink that stain the  whiteness of our smile !

1. Let's begin with the most famous:  the coffee. It contains tannins (acidic polyphenol) responsible of discoloration and of course stains. Also, acid present in coffee  weaken tooth enamel and make stains formation easier.

2. You understood, enamel doesn't like acidity. This is why food as citrus fruits, tomatoes and cranberry juice that contain acid should be eat or drink sparingly.

3. If a food can stain your clothes or carpet, it can probably stain your teeth. Think about all these dark colored things you like eating or drinking as soy sauce, coffee, black tea, cola, balsamic vinegar, blueberries and blackberries etc…

4. The consumption of soda (even the "light" ones) should be avoid or reduce. Sugar-laden drinks (as well as sugar-laden snacks ) gives a fertile ground to bacteria in mouth. Too much sugar consumption will lead to holes formation in your teeth (cavities) and will facilitated  discoloration.
Same fact for sweets which feed bacteria and release acid.

5. Wine: red wine is famous for its benefit on health but... it is responsible for giving gray coloration on teeth, which is the most difficult to remove. White wine create a little pocket on the surface of the teeth that enable stains from other food inside the pocket.

Now you know that you try to favor vegetables, water instead of soda and fibrous fruits. If your teeth are still yellow you can come to visit us at The Smile Bar in Bangkok ;)
