Ken Rabac was operations director and afternoon host of the University of Central Florida’s NPR station for a decade. Ken Rabac also taught internships, independent studies, and Communications classes at UCF.

Ken Rabac has been a certified addiction professional in that state since Dec. 8, 1995.

Ken Rabac runs Addictions Counselling Services Inc. a group and individual therapy provider for alcohol and substance abuse in Florida. The current profession of Dr. John Kenneth Rabac is clinic consultant. Dr. Rabac landed in this position after completing more than 30 years of clinical direction and supervision for a variety of addiction related treatment centers. In his career, Dr. Ken Rabac have directed and supervised addiction treatment of all diagnostic categories including Narcotics, that is, Opiate, Cocaine and heavy drug addiction. For five years Ken Rabac was the State Chair of the Florida Methadone Treatment Coalition.
Dr. Kenneth Rabac loves consulting as it provides him the opportunity to fine tune beneficial approaches and to reduce the typical judgment errors and misunderstandings that occur typically in clinical settings.

Dr. Ken Rabac crafted his most recent doctoral and post doctoral education and training to center on counseling and education. Ken Rabac always stressed that recovery is primarily a process of learning. In keeping with this, Dr. Rabac designed unique curricula for the clinics with which he consults. The curricula are products of his more than ten years efforts in his master and doctorate programs and research projects which resulted in the creation of Transformative Self Management (TSM). See Rabac and Jain, Transformative Learning in Education & Therapy (Harvard Book Store).

This book capsulizes the results of more than ten years research efforts of Dr. John Kenneth Rabac along with experiences of Dr. Deepak Jain and outlines the process of creating TSM based classrooms and clinics.

Dr. John Kenneth Rabac also landed in his current profession by virtue of dwindling job opportunities in radio broadcasting. He was a journalist since the age of 14, ultimately winning 4 James E. Scripps awards and numerous AP and UPI honors during his five years with CBS/Detroit. Dr. Ken Rabac also won a Florida Press Association Award for his PBS documentary The Right to Loaf which spotlighted harsh treatment and constitutional rights violations of vagrants in Orlando.

Despite a heralded 30-year career, Dr. Ken Rabac could foresee shrinking staffs and frequent hostile takeovers as well as sales of radio stations around the country. This led to the diminish of once rich formats in favor of simplistic, dumped down imitative radio in most major markets. Dr. Rabac fled to NPR at the University of Central Florida in Orlando but that format was also eventually hijacked by a consultant and dumped down to an unbearable degree of redundancy and limited scope.

In general, Dr. Ken Rabac had been trained in the 3 source methods of news-gathering and he was not fond of “infotainment” falsely presented as news, so he moved on to full time counseling, education and clinical consulting which has been his mainstay for the past more than 8 years.

The legacy project of Dr. John Kenneth Rabac has long been to found
“Amity College – Florida” and after an attempt fell short in 2004, Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Jain and Dr. John Kenneth Rabac somehow found each other through their international education connections and they have been able to co-found Amity College. Dr. Ken Rabac is hereby currently “growing into” his legacy profession which is President of Amity College in association with Chairman Dr. Deepak Jain.
