The website ReikiRays.com is the Internet’s premier portal for information about Reiki. Reiki is a spiritual practice developed in 1922 by Mikao Usui, a Japanese buddhist.

Practitioners transfer universal energy through the palms to allow self-healing and achieve a state of equilibrium. The two main branches of Reiki are traditional Japanese and Western. “The website will discuss both forms of this oriental medical art,” said Gogu Bobu the site owner.

“The writers will interview people who do one, the other and both. We do not advocate which discipline is best. We aim to offer readers and people interested in Reiki as much information as we can bring them.”

Recent articles have discussed Reiki’s benefits to overall health and Reiki for children. Writers will also discuss Reiki practices and tips to let people more fully incorporate the practice into their lives. Bobu encourages readers to suggest ideas and topics they would like to see covered at the website.

“Reiki is not something people do just when they feel bad, down or have some sort of illness.

When done on a regular schedule, it strengthens the body and helps it better resist the attacks of disease and stress,” Bobu said.

The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words Rei meaning Universal and Ki meaning life energy. Reiki masters advance through three different levels of instruction.

“We will take a look at what it takes to become a Reiki master as well. Our website will have interviews with masters who teach others how to become a master,” Bobu said.

“The goal of our writing is to educate people and teach them what they need to know as well as connect them the resources they need.”

Unlike some other forms of eastern medicine like acupuncture, Reiki does not try to unblock energy channels, but rather divert the energy into needed areas. By doing so, the energy is put to use where it is most needed.

“Reiki promotes balance because the energy goes where it is most needed. It is not allowed to build up in one place to the detriment of another place,” Bobu said.
