A relatively fiberglass insulation services new type of insulation on the market is reflective foil or bubble insulation.

The number one benefit to installing fiberglass insulation in your home is that it can cut down the cost of your heating and cooling bills. The insulation traps heat in the winter and cool air in the summer, preventing energy loss in your home. Without it, your warm or cool air would quickly escape and your home would be a very uncomfortable place to live. You would have to run your air conditioner all day and night and even that might not cool down your house. The heater would be running all the time in the winter and this would make for higher heating bills. That is why using any kind of insulation is important to reduce your energy bills.

Another benefit to fiberglass insulation is that it absorbs noise. Many people use extra insulation in areas of the home where they play instruments or listen to the stereo. The insulation will absorb the noise and the entire neighborhood won't have to hear blaring music or your child practicing the drums.

When installing insulation made of fiberglass, you should always use masks and gloves when handling it. You don't want to breathe in any of it nor do you want to get it on your hands. If you can, hire someone to professionally install the fiberglass. It also needs to be covered with sheet rock or wood. Never use plastic to cover the fiberglass because it can trap moisture and cause mold infestations. It's important that the insulation is installed correctly so that there are no spaces that are left uninsulated. For small cracks and crevices, you can always use foam insulation. It is easier to reach the smaller areas and corners with foam.

Fiberglass is versatile and it is great for any area of the house. It can be installed in attics as loose fill or you can use fiberglass batt insulation between wall spaces. There is also special insulation designed specifically for use in foundations and for exterior walls. If you are unsure what type you need, contact an insulation professional or better yet, have them help you install it.

Choosing the right attic insulation for any home is an important step toward saving money on energy costs and maintaining a consistent, comfortable temperature inside the home. This is especially important in the colder months of the year because many homes lose their heat through the roof space resulting in larger heating bills and more wear on heating equipment that is trying to keep a consistent temperature in the home. Adding blown insulation to the home's attic space is a small expense compared to the savings and comfort that it provides over the years after successful installation.

Contractors have the installation process down to a science, so adding insulation to the attic space is quick and economical. The contractor will use a blowing machine connected to a truck to successfully add the fiberglass insulation to the attic floor until it is at the level of the ceiling joists. The entire process takes a few hours at most for the whole job to be completed. Using a contractor for installation will also ensure that any additional requirements, such as wrapping any heat producing fixtures, door bell transformers and light fixtures in the attic to prevent any problems that come up from covering them in the heat-holding insulation.
