Happiness is coming back to the Bahamas

The Grand Bahama Island shows its beauty through the rubble and disarray, despite the power lines that block roads
and the shelves that have empty spaces. The people of the Bahamas are smiling to the strangers here helping them.
We have been reminded that they are proud people by their bearing and beauty of dress and adornment. They accept help with graciousness, and offer what hospitality they can.

There are car paths through fields to direct one around down power lines, which are becoming less needed as work is done. The stores with partially empty shelves are neat and shiny. The clerks are smiling and extremely helpful.
Of course, we could use more coffee. But yesterday a local business gave me coffee, expresso even, and it was fresh ground.... a moment of heaven.

The landscape is starting to regreen after the massive saltwater beating it took. This Island was almost totally flooded by the storm surging Atlantic. There are already neighborhoods where the enormous hills of debris and trash have been removed, and an innate joy is resurging as the prettiness of the houses is seen. But, after such a massive destruction,
this process will continue for a while.

The shelves will be restocked, maybe more slowly than on mainland, but with exactly what one would want.

The volunteer groups here are working tirelessly and becoming more coordinated. National Emergency Management Agency of the Bahamas is tirelessly putting in order. The Churches of Scientology Disaster Response with its army of Volunteer Ministers is part of this help. Proving once again "Something can be done about it.", L. Ron Hubbard.
