The sum-up title given on the cover page itself shows that the book is no traditional ‘You should do….’ stuff. It says “what successful dieters know about losing weight and how they remain motivated”.

The sum-up title given on the cover page itself shows that the book is no traditional ‘You should do….’ stuff. It says “what successful dieters know about losing weight and how they remain motivated”. This denotes that the author has no intention of telling the reader what to do, but he is presenting certain proven facts about losing weight.
Sure enough, the author of the kindle book called “Your Weight Loss Journey” David De Sandy motivates and guides the reader through a journey toward a healthy trim physique. The book is in three parts. He stars by trying to make the reader think seriously about getting his body in shape.
CONTENT OF THE KINDLE BOOK
The first part is mainly motivational. The author motivates the reader to think about losing weight and about the two ‘simple’ steps, which are, healthy eating and exercise. So the book proceeds to impart facts about the so-called- food addiction. Setting a goal goes a long way to achieving it. But what often prevents an individual from achieving the set goal, is the fact that the goal is not an achievable one. The most important thing is to set a realistic goal.
Usually people are carried away by the magical picture drawn by the advertisements of certain workout machines. But when they cannot achieve the promised result, they are discouraged and there goes all the determination to lose weight!
The second part of the book motivates the reader to get over the initial reluctance to start working out. It is very difficult to start an exercise schedule after enjoying easy life for so long. With this come other temptations. When food is the weakness of a person it is very difficult to exercise control over it suddenly. This sometimes leads to temporary depression. But overcoming this requires a high level of motivation. This part of the book deals with the ability of man to produce various excuses for overeating. The stress, boredom- anything can be presented as an excuse. The second part of the book gives solutions for all these.
The third part is titled “Haven’t you given up yet?” This is not actually a derogatory question as it may seem. This is actually a challenge for the readers to take up the seemingly challenging business of losing weight. Here the author deals with eating in social gathering situations. One should not see this as an opportunity for gorging in the name of giving company.
The most difficult decision is to consume only the food which is good for the body. The food items that belong to this particular category are not particularly tasty. So if a person decides to eat only the healthy food, soon he will put a preterm end to his ‘weight loss journey’. The author here suggests that sticking to the healthy food obstinately will do more harm than good. One should know when exactly to let go.
The book rounds up with a good natured warning that in the formula of a happy life, a trim body is only a component. The book is an unconventional but good guide to weight loss.
