Weight loss has been the prime consideration of man since he started the modern life style. Ancient man did not have this worry because he ate natural food and had to do engage in very strenuous physical activities in order to survive. But now the modern life style of man has reduced his physical activities and changed his food habits from natural to artificial.
The kindle book titled “Your Weight Loss Journey” written by David De Sandy examines all these facts and points at very plausible solutions. The style of the book differs from the usual sermonizing and advising style. The author presents all the facts before you. Considering all the facts you cannot but be convinced.
THE CONTENT OF THE BOOK
The book is in three parts. The author prepares the reader mentally. Then he leads him or her to the actual course of action and finally finishes off with some valedictory statements and directions to sustain the efforts to maintain a healthy and trim body and a happy life.
PART I MENTAL PREPARATION
When you decide to undertake a difficult task, the first requisite is a suitable mental frame and motivation. For this, an amount of preparation is definitely needed. The author of the book “Your Weight Loss Journey” prepares the reader for his ensuing ‘weight loss journey’. So the first part instructs him to think about the losing weight, in a realistic way. Any over expectations of a magical weight loss program using a ‘fancy workout machine’ should be avoided. It is about setting realistic goals which you can achieve.
PART II YOUR MIND LEADS YOUR BODY, NOT THE OPPOSITE
In this part the author deals with the reluctance of people to do something really worthwhile about weight loss. The strenuous exercises and the other restrictions that come with them is enough to put anybody off. You are sure to face temptations of many kinds. The fatigue and other difficulties involved in regular exercising will tempt you to leave it alone, after all.
Food is another temptation. It is very difficult for a person who used to eat voraciously, to restrict his gorging. The book gives certain facts about this phenomenon and teaches how to control it. This part also deals with the different excuses people invent for overeating.
PART III HAVEN’T YOU GIVEN UP YET
This part is for the people who are not put off by the facts presented in the book. It presents ways and means to circumvent social eating. The author here realizes and makes you realize how tiresome it will be if you decide to eat only healthy food and let go of your favorite food. How long can you maintain this? Obviously not for long! The author says, it is alright if you give in to the pleasures of the pallet once in a while.
The book finishes with the idea that one should not think that once you shed the extra pounds from your body, you will live happily ever after. A happy life needs much more than that. While not advocating specified food or a workout program, the book is still a good guide to weight loss.
