Rene Schillinger is a dedicated and highly accomplished educational consultant in Poughkeepsie, New York. Since graduating from New York University with his Masters of Arts degree in English Education, he has been on a mission to help local schools find success. For the last thirteen years, Schillinger has been providing training and support to the teachers of New York as a consultant. He is currently a doctoral candidate in English education at the Teachers College at Columbia University. He is working hard to increase his knowledge in the subject so he is better able to assist the school districts and schools in training their teachers in “best practices” related to the teaching of reading, writing, comprehension, phonics, and vocabulary acquisition.

In 2009, after years of consulting with schools and school districts, Rene Schillinger started his own consulting firm, Schillinger Educational Consultants. Through his firm, he provides local schools with curriculum mapping, language arts instruction, and professional development for teachers throughout New York and New Jersey. Along with his consultancy services, he also provides a number of workshops related to literacy. Over the years, he has also organized more than fifty presentations relating to reading and writing comprehension and how to best teach these skills in the classroom. He has had several articles on education published by a number of different publishers and has been certified as a trainer in the Whole School Reform Model.

Rene Schillinger is dedicated to education and has been since he was a child. As the son of two immigrant parents, he spent his childhood traveling the world. This is where he gained a love for art, music, and literacy. He has continued his travels as an adult, giving him a deep understanding and love for different cultures. He loves to sing and is looking forward to being able to start singing in his church choir in the near future. Along with signing, he writes poetry when the moment moves him and has dabbled in composing music.
