Refined Shale Gas’ Maranhao Basin Project is a deep-water gas field development located off 100km off the north eastern coast of Brazil and the basin has a depth of approximately 1,470 meters.

Refined Shale Gas will construct 4 deep-water subsea wells and will aim to produce a minimum capacity of 250 million standard cubic feet per day which is equivalent to 40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Refined Shale Gas’ Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Gabriel Oliveira commented on the Maranhao Basin Project saying “The production platforms will be floating and will be at a distance of 30km from Maranhao field and we will be taking advantage of the synergy and optimizing its producing capacity with the gas flowing from the gas field. The natural gas produced from the Basin will be exported through subsea pipelines and then on to the onshore receiving facility located on the coast of Sao Luis.

“We are extremely proud to finally get this project under way after months of logistical research and this is a project which is synergetic with existing operational facilities and is the one of Refined Shale Gas key projects for the next couple of years and it will support the growth of gas production, in line with Refined Shale Gas strategic goals,” added Gabriel Oliveira, Chief Operations Officer of Refined Shale Gas.
