[Melbourne, 2015-04-23] The Royal District Nursing Service (RDNS), one of Australia’s leading healthcare facilities, invites patrons to make a difference in home nursing through donations.

The RDNS provides home nursing and quality healthcare to more than 9,500 people throughout the Greater Melbourne, New South Wales, parts of regional Victoria and New Zealand. The renowned health care provider offers an extensive range of general and specialist care for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The RDNS functions through the support and generosity of regular patrons. The trusted healthcare provider encourages donations for continuous quality services.

RDNS Donations in Action
As a non-profit organisation, fundraising is an integral part of RDNS’s financial planning, providing around $3 million for their services annually.

The majority of the donations received by RDNS come from patrons and organisations. These love offerings fund additional nurses for the growing demand of their services. In 2014, the health care provider employed 32 nurses.

RDNS also uses the donation for the following services:
• Purchase medical equipment such as syringe drivers and bladder scanners
• Develop free comprehensive diabetes educational packs translated into numerous languages
• Subsidise disadvantaged clients
• Provide medical assistance to homeless people
• Fund research for dementia, skin health and other medical practices

How to Donate
The RDNS provides two ways for donation: through phone or online. Patrons interested in donating online can visit their site and click on the How You Can Help Us tab. Patrons can choose from one-off or monthly donations. Sponsors can also click on the Other Ways to Donate option for other means of donation.
