Irving, TX. - National Carriers, Inc. (NCI) has named Jose Aragon its 2018 Driver of the Year—a company title that’s highly sought after and most certainly deserved.
Aragon started his NCI career in September of 1997 and has since racked up more than two million safe miles, a remarkable accomplishment for any driver. But he’s not simply logging miles. He’s leading.
Known for his outstanding business acumen, work ethic, and professional image, Aragon is a leader and role model in the livestock division—not only for other drivers, but for his son, Andrew who joined his father hauling cattle in 2017.
Andrew confided, “I could not have had a better trainer. He set a good example for me to follow. Work comes first, be a go-getter, and be responsible, are all things he has taught me.”
That’s right in line with Aragon’s motto: “If I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it right or I won’t do it. Hard work doesn’t kill anybody, and if I die working, I will die happy.”
For doing things right and working hard, Aragon was honored during National Carriers’ Driver of the Year Banquet. Always a big event, this year’s banquet featured a Willie Nelson theme—"We’ve had a Willie Good Year”—and some of Dallas’ best BBQ from Soulman’s. Each 2018 Driver of the Month was recognized for his or her excellent service, and Aragon’s recognition also came with a $10,000 bonus check presented by company president, Jim Franck
