Hardik Pandya who has not featured in a single international match for India since September 2019 has got support form Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh for the T20 World Cup squad. Hardik Pandya was recovering from an injury which he had suffered during ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and when he finally recovered and played a few domestic matches the COVID-19 took the world out of Strom and all the cricketing events either got cancelled or postponed.

Even the T20 World Cup 2020 which is scheduled to take place in October-November is likely to be delayed but as there is a more time no decision is taken yet on that. But if it is going to happen then Hardik Pandya is a must for Indian squad.

He said that “Hardik Pandya has not played after the World Cup. But I can give you in writing that if he is fit and irrespective of whether the IPL takes place or not, when the team will be made he will be in the team because if the team needs to maintain combination, he has to be in the team,”.

Harbhajan Singh and Hardik Pandya have played a lot of cricket together for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He also added that “You need these kind of players. So some players cannot be judged on IPL form. It is for them who are not proven players,”.

On the other hand, the former Indian Cricketer Mohammad Kaif believes that KL Rahul should be used only as a backup WK-Batsman. “People think that Rahul may become our main keeper in the future. But I feel that Rahul should be used as a backup wicketkeeper, if the main keeper is injured or he is not with the team then Rahul should be there because if you rely on him as the main keeper then chances of injuries will grow as the workload will increase on him,” Kaif said.
