Robert Rowels is celebrating the time that he has spent as a soldier for the United States Army. Today, Robert Rowels lives in South Holland, Illinois with his friends and family. He enjoys living in Illinois, as he loves the climate, the seasons, and the variety of things that he can do there. There was a time when Robert Rowels did not have all of the comforts of home at his disposal.

From 1982 to 1988, Robert Rowels was a soldier for one the most esteemed armed forces in the United States of America. While there, Robert Rowels was able to accomplish a great deal of things. He served with honor, valor, dedication, and integrity. Robert Rowels is proud of what he was able to accomplish while serving in the U.S. Army.

Robert Rowels says, “I enlisted when I was very young, as many of us do. I remember thinking that I wanted to stand out somehow. I wanted to make a difference. Most importantly, I just wanted to make sure that I represented my country and that I served it as well as I possibly could.”

Robert Rowels continues, “I met so many amazing men and women while serving, and it is an experience that I would never take back. I learned so much from my fellow soldiers and commanding officers, and I know that I am a much better man for it.”

In addition to learning invaluable skills, Robert Rowels was able to travel around the world. His acts of service even earned him a few medals as well. One of which was an Overseas Hazardous Duty Medal. Robert Rowels received this while on tour in Korea.

Another medal that was awarded to Robert Rowels was the Good Conduct Medal. This medal is awarded to those soldiers who serve at least three years in the armed forces without ever receiving a disciplinary punishment of any kind. In addition to that, Robert Rowels also received an award known as the Army Achievement medal, which is given to those soldiers who distinguish themselves from their fellow soldiers with an act of merit.
