Christian Heesch Looks Back on 20 Years in the Medical Field

Christian Heesch completes 20 years as a physician practicing in the United States.

 
Christian Heesch is currently looking back upon 20 years as a medical doctor. He has been practicing medicine mainly in the United States. However, Christian Heesch did the majority of his training in Europe, first at the Free University of Berlin in Germany and then at the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris. He describes his career choice as both challenging and rewarding, and he is looking forward to continuing with his work.

Christian Heesch is a heart and cardiovascular specialist. He is board certified in internal medicine, interventional cardiology, and cardiovascular diseases. Christian Heesch has treated patients suffering from ailments such as high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, heart valve problems, high cholesterol levels, and more. Also of particular interest to Christian Heesch are such cardiovascular problems as congestive heart failure.

In his career, Christian Heesch has focused primarily on clinical practice. In addition, to his clinical work, however, Christian Heesch has also worked as a teacher and instructor in medicine. Christian Heesch held several positions at academic institutions where he helped to train a subsequent generation of doctors.

As part of his academic work, Christian Heesch has published multiple scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and has also been a contributor on a number of others. Christian Heesch has written mainly on the treatment of congestive heart failure and investigational pharmacological agents.

Christian Heesch began his medical education at the Free University of Berlin, an institution known for its medical school. Christian Heesch was enrolled in the 6-year combined clinical science and preclinical program at that university. During that time, he was granted a position as an exchange student and sub-intern at the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, France.

Christian Heesch held a similar position as an exchange student in Santiago, Spain. There, he worked at the Hospital General de Galicia, training as a student in general cardiology.

Christian Heesch subsequently trained in the United States, completing first a residency in Internal Medicine, and thereafter fellowships in Cardiology, Peripheral Interventional Procedures, and Transplantation/Heart Failure Medicine.
