Catharine Hardyman Attends World Swim Clinic

Catharine Hardyman recently attended the World Swim Clinic in Louisiana.

 
Catharine Hardyman recently attended the World Swim Clinic held in New Orleans, Louisiana this past September. The clinic took place from September 3-8, 2013 and featured an impressive list of speakers and presenters. Catharine Hardyman enjoyed her time at the clinic and came away with useful and helpful information.

Catharine Hardyman is a former USA competitive swimmer. She competed from ages 5-17 and enjoyed great success. Catharine Hardyman is currently a United States Swimming Certified Swim Coach. “I absolutely love swimming and everything about it. It has been my passion since I was born, and I love both participating as an athlete and coaching others,” Catharine Hardyman said.

Catharine Hardyman attended the clinic with hopes of gaining insight into new coaching techniques and strategies. The clinic proved useful for her. “It was an incredible learning opportunity. I got to hear from some of the best in the sport and came back with some new insights and motivation,” said Catharine Hardyman.

The World Swim Clinic featured an impressive list of speakers and everyone in attendance was pleased with the program. Catharine Hardyman mentioned that some of the speakers included were Coach Graham Hill, Coach Denis Cotterell, Wayne Goldsmith, and more. “They did a really good job of getting some knowledgeable coaches and experienced swimmers,” Catharine Hardyman said. “That’s what this clinic is known for.”

The clinic is put on by the American Swimming Coaches Association and is held annually. The American Swimming Coaches Association, or ASCA, is a group dedicated to providing leadership and resources to American and world swimming coaches. They do this by providing continuing education, certification, resources, and support. The World Swimming Clinic is sort of the pinnacle of their yearly efforts. “The ASCA is a first class organization. They do a lot for swim coaches across America, and I greatly appreciate everything I have learned and gained from them,” Catharine Hardyman said.

Catharine Hardyman has competed in summer leagues for the past four years in addition to coaching. She enjoys being a coach for the ability it gives her to help others. “It’s great to be able to give back,” she said.
