Atika Ali recently became a certified scuba diver by completing the necessary training and requirements. Her certification allows her to scuba dive in any body of water where scuba divers are welcome.

In order to become certified, Atika Ali was required to take classroom training, written tests, and supervised open water dives. She spread the training and lessons out over a few weeks and feels a serious sense of accomplishment when she holds her C-Card in her hand. Atika Ali’s C-Card proves her qualifications and certification, allowing her to buy and rent equipment, participate in recreational dives, and obtain air tanks.

“I’ve wanted to become scuba certified since I was just a kid, so this is a dream come true. There is something about just being in the open water with nature that really excites me,” said Atika Ali.

Atika Ali has always had an adventurous spirit and loves doing anything outdoors. On any given weekend she can be found camping, hiking, swimming, or bike riding. She can now add scuba diving to that list. “I think my weekends just got a little more exciting!” said Atika Ali. Atika Ali has friends who scuba dive and that was one of the driving factors for her in getting certified. “I just couldn’t put it off anymore. My friends are always talking about these incredible scuba trips they take and I can’t stand not being a part of them,” Atika Ali said.

Becoming scuba certified is not an easy process, but it can be accomplished. Interested people must be able to meet basic requirements, pay for classes, and pass written tests and open water diving tests. “Don’t get me wrong, it is a lot of work; but it is going to be well worth it. My advice would be to just do it,” said Atika Ali. Her only regret is that she didn’t do it sooner. “It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!”
