Jocelyn Vegter has enjoyed over ten years of professional success in the IT industry. After a decade of demonstrating superior leadership and problem solving skills, Jocelyn Vegter has been named Senior NetBackup Engineer – the highest professional title she has held to date. Jocelyn Vegter recalls the journey as such: “I always knew I wanted to work in the IT industry, so that wasn’t a hard choice. However, the road has definitely been long, exhausting, and infinitely rewarding.”

Jocelyn Vegter loves to tackle the challenges her team faces daily. Having gotten her start in the field as an entry-level production support analyst, Jocelyn Vegter’s IT career took off shortly after she acquired her technical degree in web development and business programming. Enjoying the first chance she had to practically apply textbook knowledge, Jocelyn Vegter quickly gained a reputation amongst her peers for having a solid work ethic and diligently facing any issue from an optimistic view.

Regarding her first steps into a male dominated industry, Jocelyn Vegter had this to say: “I was and remain extremely confident in my professional abilities, I have never allowed stereotypes to play a role in my actions. I do, however, hope that I can help ease the minds of young women who may feel intimidated about joining the field of IT.”

Jocelyn Vegter was routinely promoted throughout the companies she has worked for and has been recognized by employers as an emerging expert in the industry. Demonstrating the ability to manage any obstacle, Jocelyn Vegter successfully graduated cum laude from Strayer University in March 2011. Equipped with her bachelor’s degree in information systems and security as well as a stellar employment history in the field, Jocelyn Vegter was chosen by a top IT company to become the new Senior NetBackup Engineer.

After gaining her footing in this new position, Jocelyn Vegter has continued to approach complex technical issues through team collaboration and problem solving. Valuing her team members as integral to her department’s success, Jocelyn Vegter states, “I couldn’t do what I do on a daily basis without my team; a solid team is absolutely invaluable in our industry.”
