A group of volunteers who wanted to help put an end to poverty and hunger first started the foundation. The original volunteers who helped put the organization together were inspired by other organizations such as the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Using this as a framework, The Mariposa Foundation has goals such as completely eradicating extreme poverty and hunger. Another goal of The Mariposa Foundation is to achieve universal primary education.
