Mel Steel former law enforcement officer in Boston recently launched his own personal protection security firm, Red Lions Group, LLC. After spending over 12 years in law enforcement, Mel Steel has turned his sights on the private security industry and is looking forward to providing personal security for people in the entertainment industry.

Mel Steel made the announcement in the summer of 2014 and has decided to take his career one step higher. Mel Steele was born and raised in the Mattapan section of Boston. He attended the James P. Timilty Middle School before moving over to Westwood High School. He was a bright student and did extremely well in academics as well as sports and earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Delaware. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Steele started working at the New Castle County Detention Center in Delaware. He later became a law enforcement officer and worked hard to help troubled youth in the community.

During his tenure as a law enforcement officer, Mel Steele worked in various parts of the city of Boston. He also attended several training programs to enhance his knowledge and skills as a police officer. Mel Steele is currently the Chief Operating Officer at 1st Armor Protection Services, a private security firm in Boston. Steele has unique leadership skills and has become a valuable asset to the company he now works for. He believes the private security industry is a promising place for those with experience and is looking forward to moving ahead with his own company Red Lions Group, LLC.
