Mark Remley is a businessman from Del Mar, California, an affluent area inside San Diego County that is known for its equestrian population as well as their many big-name horseracing events that are hosted in the area every year. And while that population came to Remley’s benefit in terms of professional career later in life, he had a strong start in business that eventually got him to the success that he enjoys today.

Mark Remley got his first venture into business when he co-founded Signal Corporation. Signal was an information technology firm that first started with four employees, and worked with high-end government contracts that eventually helped fuel the company’s growth to becoming a 1,600 employee operation at a net worth of $600 million. Remley worked with signal for 13 years, and earned the title of Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He had also gained certifications in a number of valuable fields that came as essential to the company’s growth.

He got a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert certificate, which enabled him to implement effective software solutions to make the company more efficient. He also received a CNE, or Certified Novell Engineer, which is described on the Novell site: “Your Certified Novell Engineer™ (CNE) training gives you a wide variety of network support skills that allow you to keep your company's network running efficiently—with less downtime. As a CNE, you solve advanced company-wide support problems and high-level network problems. You perform planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and upgrade services for networks.”

With all of this business success came a fond farewell from Mark Remley, as he left Signal Corporation in good standing back in 2000. He then started to invest his business skills into his wife, Tatyana, and her passion for equestrian sports. The two of them combined their ideas and experiences to come up with Valitar, a dressage event like no other that involved acrobatic stunts performed by talented riders and their horses, along with an invigorating rock-themed music score that was a hit in the Del Mar area for years. Valitar dazzled thousands of audience members right on the Remley’s 45,000 sq ft ranch.
