Recently, the chairman and chief executive officer of Ricoh Corporation, Katsumi "Kirk" Yoshida, announced that Jim Ivy with Ricoh will become the new executive vice president and will be placed in charge of the newly created Office Products Group. Previously, Jim Ivy from Ricoh had been serving as the president and chief executive officer of a subsidiary of the Ricoh Corporation, Savin. Jim Ivy from the Ricoh Corporation has also served as a member of the board of directors of the company since 1998.

The Office Product Group, also referred to as OPG, will be a combination of the Ricoh business unit, the marketing and planning group, the technology solutions center, and the Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) Group. This group will be run by Jim Ivy with Ricoh and Thomas Salierno, as part of the Savin Corporation. Thomas Salierno is a current Savin vice president and is being appointed as the president and chief operating officer of Savin. Jim Ivy of Ricoh will become the chairman and chief executive officer of Savin. Jim Ivy of Ricoh has this to say about the new division of Ricoh: “I am looking forward to working with Thomas Salierno and building up Savin Corporation. With the support of our parent company, Ricoh, I know that Savin will be a successful leader in the office equipment industry. I am looking forward to the challenges of merging so many divisions of Ricoh under the Savin Corporation.”

The Ricoh business unit, which markets Ricoh brand office equipment in the United States, will now be part of Savin Corporation. Savin was acquired by Ricoh in 1994, and Jim Ivy from Ricoh has been heading up this division since the acquisition. Jim Ivy of Ricoh brings over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing to this position. With his expertise in increasing revenue through mergers and acquisitions, Jim Ivy of Ricoh was certainly the right choice to head up this new division of the company. Along with Thomas Salierno, Jim Ivy of Ricoh will be leading the office equipment industry into the digital future through advances in technology with Savin Corporation.
