Jeremy Bednarsh completes a challenging HVAC troubleshooting and product repair class.

Jeremy Bednarsh completed a number of HVAC troubleshooting courses through Carrier Corporation, which is the largest air conditioning company in the world. Adding the completion of this training to his resume is going to boost his marketability within his industry significantly. The courses were fairly difficult as they covered a wide array of equipment, but Jeremy Bednarsh did quite well.

One of the key components to HVAC troubleshooting is being able to locate the problematic issue in any system quickly and with confidence. In addition, the technician needs to be able to understand the root cause of the problem and not just solve it with a quick fix. Jeremy Bednarsh, because of his deep understanding of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, is usually able to confidently draw these kinds of conclusions. The training offered by Carrier simply helped him hone his troubleshooting skills to the next level.

“Some of the course was simply a refresher. Topics such as calculating superheat and subcooling, calculating refrigerant charge and the use and testing of HVAC instruments were pretty much all a review. However, I had a lot to learn when it came to EPA guidelines and how to evacuate a mechanical refrigeration system,” said Jeremy Bednarsh.

In the course, Jeremy Bednarsh also sharpened his skills on the repair of Roof Top Units, Water Source Heat Pumps, Split Systems, Pumps and Electrical Motors and Cooling Towers. Each of these systems requires different tools and techniques for troubleshooting. Jeremy Bednarsh prides himself on understanding a great deal about all of these systems and being able to provide a thorough evaluation for his clients.

Jeremy Bednarsh plans to continue his education through Carrier’s training programs when time and his finances permit him to do so. He is interested in adding Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) courses to his portfolio as they apply to HVAC. Carrier offers a few classes that give an overview into green building and how this will affect the HVAC system utilization. Jeremy Bednarsh knows that keeping himself educated and current with industry trends will serve him well as he builds his professional profile.
