Hank Blaisdell of Reno, Nevada has traveled an unusual road to success, navigating the twists and turns of life with aplomb. Living today in Reno and working for the NCJ Credit Union, where he has been for 12 years, Hank could not have predicted his current career path. After graduation from college with a Bachelor’s degree in History, Hank was researching his possible life path when he took an entry level job at NCJ, working as a teller in this Nevada-based credit union concern. Surprising to Hank, he found that the job was interesting, and formed relationships which helped him grow as a person. After 5 years getting to know the credit union business, Hank’s natural creativity and ambition led him to volunteer ideas and time to the sales needs of NCJ.
Hank Blaisdell wrote proposals for new ideas, made suggestions for public relations improvements, such as the contents of electronic phone answering systems and the phone relationships of credit union representatives with customers, and brought himself to the attention of his superiors. His natural drive and understanding of the nature of sales and public relations for the particular entity which is a credit union, led to his appointment as a Sales and Marketing professional at NCJ Credit Union. From this springboard position, Hank has surprised even himself, succeeding as a self-taught marketing professional through hard work and experience.
Prior to his present work at NCJ Credit Union, Hank Blaisdell developed an enthusiasm for life and experiences which he continues to enjoy today. In high school, Blaisdell played football in the position of flanker for his team. Flankers must learn and be adept at a variety of receiver positions on the offensive football line. Hank Blaisdell’s time as a receiver for his high school football team likely ingrained a lifelong love of sport, as today one of his favorite pastimes is watching sports both as an on-field fan and on television.
After his high school days were over, Hank Blaisdell enrolled at Flat River University, eventually completing a Bachelor’s degree in History. Instead of abandoning his love of history, Blaisdell gives lectures in area schools on the complexities of the American Civil War, and continues to pursue his interests in antique maps and historical collectibles. Neither does Blaisdell apologize for his passionate interest in organic gardening, another facet of a personality which epitomizes the Renaissance man.
