Over the course of Gary Allen’s real estate career, the businessman provided marketing and development services to over 150 individual subdivisions, lot values amounting to $1.5 billion or more. Many of these projects included waterfront construction of single-family home communities throughout the southeastern United States, but were particularly concentrated in coastal North Carolina.

However, Gary Allen’s real estate career was not just about real estate. The developer is a committed philanthropist and has made many extremely generous donations to organizations in his home state. “The best part about my business success was never the business end,” said Gary Allen. “The best part was being able to help others, using my financial gains to ensure that those who weren’t as fortunate as I was can have the same opportunities that I did.”

Gary Allen’s real estate success resulted in donations amounting to hundreds of thousands, or even millions of dollars, to organizations like UNC Chapel Hill, the Governor Hunt Library at North Carolina State University, the Carter Center, and the North Carolina Natural History Museum. Gary Allen takes a particular interest in donating to educational causes recognizing the benefit education has for future generations. Gary Allen’s own career started after he completed his university education, and Gary Allen believes any program supporting education is cause for consideration and support.
