Efstathios N Karanikolaidis is an investment banker who has worked for J.P. Morgan since 2002. He is a Managing Director of the firm's Leveraged Finance group, and puts in long days at the office. There is no such thing as a typical day, which is one of the attractions of his work.

His perspective and worldview have been shaped, among other things, by his experiences in Greece, where he attended the Athens University of Economics and Business and received his undergraduate degree in 1997.

But most of all, he finds that traveling on a regular basis can recharge his batteries, by providing him with the psychological lift he needs from time to time. Regular trips, even short ones, help to break the monotony of the day-to-day routine, and help him to sustain his energy and vitality level on the job.
