Deborah Cohn spent thirty-one successful years working with the United States Patent and Trademarks Office. For Four years, she achieved great things as the Commissioner for Trademarks.

 
It was in December of 2014 that Deborah Cohn made enacted her decision to retire from the Commissioner for Trademarks position. For thirty-one years, Cohn worked with the United States Patent and Trademarks Office (USPTO). Her time spent working with the government office was filled with triumphs, achievements, and overall success. Her storied career as a government attorney falls nothing short of illustrious. In February of 2015, the International Trademark Association (INTA)announced their hiring of two members, one of which was Deborah Cohn. The overall great success that Cohn had throughout her career makes her a valuable employee for the Association.

During her thirty-one years with the USPTO, Cohn filled a variety of positions as a USPTO Official. She was the Examining Attorney, Managing Attorney, Group Director, Deputy Commissioner for Trademark Operations, Chief Administrative Officer and served her final four years as the Commissioner for Trademarks. Deborah Cohn Trademark came into her final position with the USPTO will many ideas for changes and executed her plan that attained efficiency and productivity for the Office. This type of game-changing plan and focus is one of the reasons why Deborah Cohn is the perfect candidate for the position INTA hired her.

INTA is aiming to keep a focus on the issues concerning trademarks and internet policy. They believe that the hiring of Deborah Cohn will help do just that. The issues of internet policy and trademark have a far reaching effect that includes business and consumers, but not just in the United States, but on a global scale. The position that Deborah Cohn is being brought on for is Senior Director of Government Relations. This position will be carried out in the capital city of the United States, Washington D. C., which is the perfect place for Cohn to help the Association make an impact on the government.

As Senior Director of Government Relations, Deborah Cohn will be given new and different responsibilities. Her duties will include becoming a liaison between the federal and state legislatures and the Association, as well as being a participant in the creation of policies and procedures. The policies and procedures for INTA that Deborah Cohn will aid in preparing will involve the issues that are on a federal, state, and international level.
