Christopher Ursin Has Received 14 Awards and Decorations

While serving as a military police officer in the Army, Christopher Ursin received 14 awards and decorations for his bravery and service.

 
Christopher Ursin was a military police officer from 1989 to 1992. During this time, Christopher Ursin served in two hostile conflicts and one humanitarian mission. From serving in the two hostile conflicts, Christopher Ursin received 12 medals for exemplary service. Christopher Ursin was also awarded two Army Commendation and two Army Achievement Medals.

Christopher Ursin served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The other hostile conflict that Christopher Ursin was involved in was Operation Just Cause in Panama. From these deployments, Christopher Ursin was awarded two Army Commendation Medals. These medals are presented to service members who show sustained acts of heroism or meritorious service. Christopher Ursin was also awarded two Army Achievement Medals for his outstanding achievement and meritorious service while in a conflict situation. Because a national emergency was declared during this time, Christopher Ursin was also awarded two National Defense Medals. These medals are awarded to a service member who has served honorably during a designated time period, in which a national emergency had been declared.

Christopher Ursin also served in Operation Safe Harbor in Cuba. This humanitarian mission was used to bring food, medical care and clean drinking water to Haitian immigrants in Cuba. For his service, Christopher Ursin was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal. This medal is awarded to active-duty enlisted members of the United States military who complete three consecutive years of honorable and faithful service. Christopher Ursin is an excellent example of the compassionate side of the American military.

Christopher Ursin spoke of being awarded so many medals for his service to this country. “I am so honored by these medals. It was an honor just to serve in the military. I was able to serve my country, protect innocent lives, and provide humanitarian aid in Cuba. The determination and drive that I learned in the military will serve me well in my professional life.” Christopher Ursin is a man who served his country honorably from 1989 to 1992 in both conflict and humanitarian arenas. While serving as a military police officer in the U.S. Army, Christopher Ursin was awarded 12 medals just for his exemplary service during hostile conflicts. Christopher Ursin was also awarded several other medals for his humanitarian efforts in Cuba.
