It is hard to believe that it has been only one year since Christopher Braud graduated from Louisiana State University’s School of Dentistry and became Dr. Christopher Braud, DDS. Already the young man has experienced a great deal of success, including gaining a full-time position as an associate at Oak Harbor Family Dentistry in Slidell, LA, where he has instantly made an impression. Almost right away, Christopher Braud’s coworkers and patients started commenting favorably on his professionalism, enthusiasm, zest for the work and easygoing demeanor.

In addition to the professional accolades, Christopher Braud has been actively volunteering his time in the community. This year, he participated in National Give Kids A Smile Day, an annual event sponsored by the American Dental Association, of which Christopher Braud is a member, that gives free dental care, screenings, education and treatment options to kids without the advantages of paid dental care. The event was a great success, and made a big impression on Christopher Braud, who is an impassioned volunteer in many areas of the community.

“It has been a big year for me, no doubt,” says Christopher Braud. But he does a good job of keeping a level head about the success, saying that he considers the accolades a nice bonus, but that he thinks the work is its own reward. In addition, Christopher Braud says, having a good attitude tends to be like a self-fulfilling prophecy, in a lot of ways.

“In terms of professional recognition, I think it’s important, it feels good to be recognized for doing a good job, but in the end you live and die by how you feel about the work on your own time, independent of how others see you. If you are doing right by yourself, you will be well off in your other aspects as well. And I think others will see that, too.”

Christopher Braud doesn’t seem like the kind of person who will let success go to his head, which is all the more reason to suspect that he will be seeing a lot more of it in the years to come.
