Senior executive Alex Heidt looks back on 25 years in his field.

Sometimes Alex Heidt himself finds it hard to believe, but he is now celebrating 25 years as a defense professional. “I still feel like a young man,” Alex Heidt says. “I still have so many good years ahead of me. And yet, here it has been 25 years that I’ve been doing this, already.”

This milestone produces positive feelings in Alex Heidt, who is the Senior Vice President of Alion Science and Technology. After all, he has had a career marked by achievement and studded with awards so far, and shows not a single sign of slowing down.

Most recently, Alex Heidt was named Alumni of the Year by his alma mater Strayer University, where he earned his BSBA. Alex Heidt also has a JD and a Masters in Finance among his credentials. In the past, Alex Heidt has received such awards as the Extra Mile Award from Orbital Sciences, the President’s Award, an MVP Award, and the prestigious NOVA Award from Lockheed Martin, his former employers.

Alex Heidt was hired by Alion Science and Technology to head their new division, the Acquisition Programs Management Group. The position suites Alex Heidt’s diverse skill set to a T. At his new position, he’ll find ways to drive growth through effective business development and networking.

How does Alex Heidt do it? Ask him, and you’ll get a humble response from a man who has no need to be humble. “I come in every day and I do my job,” he says. “I take pride in my work and I try to be a professional. That’s all there is to it.”

For Alex Heidt, dedication and hard work have become second nature. The former U.S. Marine has developed into a senior leader who is talented in all aspects of business leadership, from team building to acquisitions, integrations, C-level networking, business plan implementation, and full P&L responsibility.

“I can’t believe it’s been 25 years, and I look forward to 25 more,” Alex Heidt was quoted as saying. “I have every intention of continuing my professional development, and continuing to be of service to the company and to the country.”
