One of the biggest struggles that grip everyone is surely ‘surviving through the long flight journey’. Problems like severe back pain, uncomfortable sleeping posture, and pain in legs arise due to long flight hours. Imagine how tough it is for people who suffer from severe problems like cervical, migraine, and headache, etc. to travel for such a long duration. These issues, at times, increase to such an extent that people have to avoid traveling through plane altogether.

To put an end to all such problems, there are few things suggested by various physical therapists that can be done. All of them ensure a happy and comfortable travel experience, and the fear of traveling over long distances definitely rushes away!

TRY TO STRETCH YOUR BODY AFTER SHORT INTERVALS OF TIME

No human body can stay in the same position for too long. Doing so leads to a deficiency of oxygen in the body due to which lactic acid accumulates in the body. Presence of lactic acid in the body gives a feeling of body ache and makes one restless. Hence, bending, stretching, moving your legs, or moving a little can save you from the endless body ache that may arise in the body.
To ensure this, one should always book the aisle seat since one can easily get up and stretch a little while it’s really hard to do the same when you are stuck at the window seat.

BUT WHAT TO DO IF STUCK AT YOUR SEAT?

• Imagine being stuck at the Window seat! This certainly means restricted or hardly any movement. As per the physical therapist, carrying a neck pillow can really help in this case. In case you don’t have one, place something like a pullover around your neck and sit down in a comfortable position.
• Adjusting your seat by a little improves the body posture and hence prevents any kind of ache.
• For all those who have the problem of ‘Blood Clotting’, wearing Compression socks is generally recommended by physical therapists. Maintaining a particular posture while traveling increases the chances of the problem, so these socks ensure that the blood pressure remains at its level and reduces the blood pooling. Lacrosse ball can also be an alternative.

Just in case, you can afford the ticket of business or economy class, always opt for that one. The comfort and legroom that one gets in that class is completely unmatched and prevents all sorts of problems that may come up while traveling through a flight.

So, next time, whenever you plan a flight journey, you know how to avoid all the problems that you may encounter.
