If your project is not going as well as you planned, it may be time to rethink the outcome.

1. Communicate with your freelancer or company.

It can be difficult to strictly communicate via email. Sometimes a simple phone call can be the solution to an ongoing issue. Schedule a phone call or a video chat with your freelancer so you can reiterate the goals of the project and make sure you both are on the same page.

2. Follow your instincts.

As we mentioned before, you are the only person who knows exactly what is needed for the project to be successful. If those goals are not being met or if you don’t feel that your freelancer or agency is giving the project their best effort, you need to act quickly. There is a large pool of many other freelancers and agencies who are willing to work hard and make sure the job will be completed.

3. File a dispute.

If you have done the best that you can to communicate with your freelancer or agency, and neither party is coming to a conclusion, you can file a dispute. To do so, go to the dropdown option of Actions for the relevant job and click “Dispute the job".

4. Get 100% refund.

You may reserve the right to refuse to pay if your job is not completed on time. Just put in the refund request within the same week [it is not clear here which week you are talking about – the same week of what?] and no later than that. For non-refundable jobs [you should define what a refundable job is], you can simply not release the funding unless the work is completed [what does it mean to release funding? Things have to be explained more I think]. Once the job is completed, you must release the funding.
