Das Besondere an der Webseite von T-Mobile ist dabei das Teaserbild, welches so bisher noch nirgends zu sehen war und eine seitliche Ansicht des nächsten Samsung Smartphones zeigt. Womöglich zeigt das Foto dabei sogar die Edge Variante des Galaxy S6, darauf deutet zumindest das auf dem Foto angedeutete seitliche Display hin.Die bisherigen Fotos legen nahe, dass Samsung bei der Qualität eine Stufe hinaufschalten wird. Dies könnte bedeuten, dass auch das neue Flaggschiff ein Metallgehäuse besitzen wird, wie es schon bei der Galaxy A-Reihe der Fall ist. Sollte es sich um ein Unibody Gehäuse handeln, so wäre dies aber wohl nicht länger gegen Wasser geschützt und auch ein austauschbarer Akku wäre in diesem Fall eher unwahrscheinlich. Alternativ bekommt das Galaxy S6 nur einen Rahmen aus Metall spendiert und eine Rückseite mit Metallic Optik verpasst.

Im inneren des Samsung Galaxy S6 soll ein Exynos 7420 Octa-Core-Prozessor schlummern, diesem sollen 3 GB Arbeitsspeicher und 32 GB Flashspeicher zur Seite stehen. Das 5- bis 5,3-Zoll große Display soll voraussichtlich mit 2.560 x 1.440 auflösen und auf der Rückseite des Smartphones der Südkoreaner wird eine 20,7 Megapixel Kamera vermutet. Nokia hatte im vergangenen Jahr mit dem Lumia 630 und Lumia 635 zwei besonders preiswerte und interessante Smartphones im Portfolio. Für Einsteiger empfiehlt Microsoft das neuere Lumia 535, doch in unserem Test zeigte sich, dass der Griff hin zum Nokia Lumia 630 oder Lumia 635 mit LTE sinnvoller ist. Ein Kritikpunkt am Nokia Lumia 635 ist allerdings der recht knapp bemessenen 512 MB kleine Hauptspeicher des Smartphones mit Windows Phone 8.1.

Das Samsung Galaxy A7 ist das Top-Modell der A-Reihe von Samsung. Diese Smartphones sind die ersten Geräte mit einem kompletten Unibody Gehäuse aus Aluminium des Herstellers aus Südkorea. Während das Galaxy A3 als Einsteigergerät für 299 Euro verkauft wird und einen 4,5-Zoll Bildschirm besitzt, kommt beim Galaxy A5 für 399 Euro ein 5-Zoll Display zum Einsatz. Das Samsung Galaxy A7 wird sogar ein 5,5-Zoll Display besitzen, welches mit 1.920 x 1.080 Pixel auflöst. Zum Vergleich löst das Galaxy A5 nur mit 1.280 x 720 Pixel auf.Einen offiziellen Termin gibt es seitens Samsung noch nicht, allerdings findet man via Geizhals erste Händler wie Voelkner und Digitalo, die als Termin für das Galaxy A7 den 27. März 2015 angeben. Der Preis liegt wenig überraschend bei 499 Euro, womit erneut 100 Euro mehr gegenüber dem Galaxy A5 fällig werden. Als Prozessor wird beim Galaxy A7 der Samsung eigene Exynos 5430 Octa-Core zum Einsatz kommen. Dieser war auch bereits im Samsung Galaxy Alpha zu finden und hinterließ in unserem Test einen ziemlich flotten Eindruck. Die CPU setzt dabei auf vier Kerne mit 1,8 GHz Taktfrequenz und vier Kerne mit je 1,3 GHz. Zusätzlich gibt es 2 GB Arbeitsspeicher.
