Pari Shams, a highly regarded consultant oculoplastic surgeon based in London, is drawing attention to the importance of expert care in the treatment of ptosis of the eyelid. With a personalised approach and a commitment to clinical excellence, the clinic offers patients effective surgical solutions designed to restore both function and appearance.
Ptosis, also known as drooping of the upper eyelid, can occur at any age and may affect one or both eyes. It is often caused by weakness or stretching of the muscles responsible for lifting the eyelid, though in some cases it may be present from birth or develop after trauma or surgery. While it can impact appearance, ptosis can also obstruct vision, making timely and skilled treatment essential.
Pari Shams provides a comprehensive service for patients with ptosis, offering detailed assessments and bespoke surgical plans tailored to each individual. Every case is carefully evaluated to determine the cause, severity, and best course of treatment, with the goal of achieving a natural, balanced result that restores eyelid function and symmetry.
The clinic combines in-depth anatomical knowledge with precise surgical technique, ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate care based on their unique needs. Whether the ptosis is mild or more advanced, the treatment aims to deliver both cosmetic improvement and functional correction.
A spokesperson for Pari Shams said, “Ptosis can affect people in many different ways – from visual disturbance to feelings of self-consciousness. Our approach is centred on understanding the individual’s experience and providing a tailored solution that improves both vision and confidence. We are committed to delivering results that look natural and feel comfortable.”
Surgery for ptosis typically involves tightening or shortening the muscles that lift the eyelid. The specific technique depends on the underlying cause and the strength of the remaining muscle function. Options include levator resection, Müller’s muscle surgery, or frontalis suspension, and the choice is made following a thorough consultation and examination.
The procedure is usually performed under local anaesthetic with sedation, although general anaesthetic may be used in certain cases. Most patients are treated as day cases, with the surgery lasting around one to two hours. Recovery times are generally short, and patients are given full guidance on aftercare to ensure smooth healing.
Pari Shams is known for providing a warm, supportive environment where patients feel informed and cared for throughout their journey. From the initial consultation to post-operative follow-up, the clinic maintains a strong focus on patient wellbeing, ensuring all concerns are addressed with clarity and compassion.
In addition to treating adults, the clinic also has experience managing congenital ptosis in children. Early diagnosis and intervention can be crucial in preventing long-term visual development issues, and the team works closely with families to offer safe, effective solutions that support both health and appearance.
The clinic’s reputation is built on years of specialist experience in oculoplastic surgery, including both functional and cosmetic procedures around the eyes. With a particular focus on natural results and minimal scarring, Pari Shams has become a trusted name for patients seeking expert care in delicate areas of the face.
Patients who undergo ptosis surgery often report improved vision, a more open and alert appearance, and enhanced self-esteem. The results can be life-changing, especially for those who have struggled with drooping eyelids for many years. The impact goes beyond aesthetics, offering practical improvements that make everyday activities easier.
With increasing awareness of ptosis and its effects, more people are seeking professional guidance and surgical solutions. Pari Shams remains at the forefront of this care, using advanced techniques and a personalised approach to deliver safe, lasting outcomes.
The clinic continues to invest in training, innovation, and patient education, ensuring that every individual who walks through the door receives the highest standard of care.
