Oystehr, a headless Electronic Health Record (EHR), releases a series of major updates including a rebranding, ONC Health IT certification, and the launch of several new features.

The product, formerly known as ZapEHR, has rebranded to Oystehr. Alongside this change, Oystehr has released version 1.9 of its platform, which includes ONC Health IT certification. Systems built on Oystehr, including its open-source front-end EHR Ottehr, may inherit Oyster’s Health IT certified criteria within their own systems.

In addition to the rebranding and certification, Oystehr has launched its eRx service in open beta. This feature enables healthcare providers to electronically send prescriptions to pharmacies and manage patient medication and allergy lists.

Other notable updates include:
- Improvements to FHIR search performance and scalability, currently at 2.2 million FHIR requests per day
- Enhancements to Telemed, Revenue Cycle Management, and Patient Messaging services
- Release of Ottehr v0.3, including charting, templates, scheduling and telemed visits
