The Hong Kong Council for Trade Creation (HKTDC) will host the 5th Hong Kong International Diamond Jewelry Show and Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show Brighten Businessesond, Gem & Pearl Show at AsiaWorld-Expo from 27 February to 3 March, and the 35th Hong Kong International Jewelry Show from 1 to 5 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The twin shows expect a total of over 4,480 exhibitors from over 50 countries and continents, allowing traders the world's largest jewelry marketplace to tap into global markets. In 2017, more than 85,000 buyers from 144 countries and regions were attracted to the shows.
Leading industry groups from around the world will display in their respective party pavilions their wide range of exquisite jewellery and gemstones. Countries and regions represented include, but are not limited to: Australia, Belgium , Brazil, China, Colombia, France , Germany, India , Israel, Italy , Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Peru, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan , Thailand, Turkey and the United States.
With more than 30 renowned brands including ELLE (Hong Kong) and Lao Feng Xiang (Chinese mainland), the Jewellery Show is dedicated to a wide range of fine jewellery. More than 100 top-tier jewellery companies live in the Hall of Extraordinary. Designer Galleria houses state-of-the-art and sparkling brands of designers, while the World of Glamor highlights Hong Kong jewellers' strong craftsmanship.
Other thematic areas include the Hall of Jade Jewelry for Fei Cui, Antique & Vintage Jewelry Gallery gathering classic charms, Craftsmanship treasures bringing sophisticated decorative items, Hall of Time highlighting luxury timepieces, and Wedding Bijoux for love memories. The newly launched IT Solutions for Jewelry Zone brings together IT solution providers to showcase their latest jewelry industry innovations and applications, such as e-business solutions, augmented reality ( AR) retail technology, inventory management, and mobile applications, among others.
The Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show is specialized in raw materials from jewellery including loose diamonds, precious stones, semi-precious stones and pearl jewelry. The show will continue to support world renowned companies including Novel Collection Limited, M.I.D. (HK) Limited, Alain Boite S.A.S., and Paul Wild. Different types of jewelry raw materials are on display in three thematic areas, namely the Hall of Fine Diamonds for outstanding natural diamonds, Nature treasures for brilliant gemstones, and Ocean treasures for exquisite pearls.
Organized by the HKTDC, the Hong Kong Jewellers' & Goldsmiths' Association, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers' Association, the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers' Association and the Hong Kong Diamond Federation, the Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition is entering its 19th edition with the goal of honoring local craftsmanship and innovation designs. The competition is divided into the Open Group and the Student Group, with the theme "The Vibrant Hong Kong," welcoming entries inspired by the unique cultural mix of the city. Both submissions will be judged on (1) creativity and innovation, (2) design, craftsmanship and wearability and (3) the theme importance. Entries to the Open Group will also be judged on marketability.
