We have an exciting conclusion to the end of our new Entrepreneurship course here at Maranatha Christian Academy . In the coming weeks, sales professionals from around the Twin Cities will advise our students on their products and services. In this Sales Pitch and Panel event, students will give their “dry run” on their product offering and, in turn, the professionals will advise them on how to strengthen their pitch for the upcoming Shark Tank. Following the Pitch and Panel event, the Entrepreneurial students will complete in multi-round Shark Tank here at the school. Multiple professionals and entrepreneurs will hear their pitches and vote on a winner and runner-up. Then, in January, our two top school teams will go with the entire class to compete in our first ever intra-school Christian Schools Entrepreneurial competition in the 3M Amphitheater at the Carlson School of Management. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience public speaking / presentation advice from entrepreneurial professionals and experience the University of Minnesota.

Dates of Competition:
 Wednesday, January 3 at 1 p.m.: Rounds 1 & 2 hosted in the Beyond Impact Entrepreneurial Center of Excellence at Maranatha Christian Academy
 Friday, January 5 at 1 p.m.: Final Round hosted in the Beyond Impact Entrepreneurial Center of Excellence at Maranatha Christian Academy
 Wednesday, January 10 beginning at 8 a.m.: Intra-School Competition hosted in the 3M Amphitheater at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management
Business Consulting Course Getting Ramped Up for 2018
With the conclusion of our Entrepreneurial Event at the Carlson School of Management in early January, our Business Consulting course will kick off the Spring semester. In this unique offering, our students will experience project based learning on a whole new level: addressing a real and relevant business problem from a local or national business. Using tools developed by Deloitte consulting, both for and not-for-profit businesses will work with students on providing deliverables that will be presented at the end of the semester. Some of our project teams will be coached by executives from Accenture, who have a wealth of project management experience. In early February, your son or daughter will travel with us to Best Buy’s Richfield Headquarters, where they will hear first-hand from executives on how to run an effective project ahead of their first face to face client meeting. In this fashion, our students get direct exposure to multiple professionals and can see if a career in project management / consulting may be in their future.
