Mayer Flaks is an art dealer in San Francisco. After years of hard work, he has planned an Alaskan vacation for himself.

Mayer Flaks has spent years helping upcoming and unknown talented artists receive greater recognition for their work. Making connections between artists, other art dealers, and art purchasers can be stressful and tiring work. While he takes time out to go for walks or occasionally hike, San Francisco art dealer Mayer Flaks decided it was time to take an extended break for himself.

Mayer Flaks decided to book a week long Alaskan cruise after some mild prodding by friends and family. "I hadn't realized I was getting so over-worked until people said I looked tired. A friend had asked when was the last time I took a vacation and I realized it had been a while," says Mayer Flaks.

"I booked a 7-day long cruise. It leaves from Seattle in August. There are five port of calls on the trip with three of them in Alaska," says Mayer Flaks. The cruise is not only a chance for Mayer Flaks to take a break but continues to connect him to the world of fine arts. On his cruise, there is scheduled a fine art auction allowing guests to see some of the best artwork produced in the past century.

Mayer Flaks fully intends on enjoying himself on his cruise. He plans on taking advantage of the spa and play his luck in the ship's grand casino. Mayer Flaks also looks forward to evenings attending the various entertainment venues planned for the ship. "I look forward to experiencing everything on the ship but I look forward to seeing the Alaskan coast line," says Mayer Flaks.

Mayer Flaks chose the date of his cruise carefully. During the summer months, there is always a chance to spot whales from the deck of the ship. Mayer Flaks hopes his ship will be fortunate enough to run by a pod of whales. "I got a great deal on this cruise and was actually surprised by the low cost. I hope to take some great pictures with my new Nikon camera," says Mayer Flaks. The cruise is not the only Alaskan vacation planned by Mayer Flaks, he hopes to vacation in-land at one of Alaska's beautiful lodges.
