Madrid, Spain, June 04, 2013 - The Marca Espana has come to the European Parliament, bringing with it a Spanish fashion parade and tapas tasting event

The European Parliament building in Brussels is acting as the venue where the Marca Espana is presenting itself to society, in an event designed to showcase Spains assets and help it to regain the prestige lost as a result of the crisis, as well as to attract investment.

Parliament sources say the event has presented those attending it with the image of a Spain that is both "modern and traditional" and with great strength in many areas despite the "difficult times" the country is going through due to the economic crisis. The event features an exhibition of "very expressive" images of Spain, and is also being used to present the project Cook Fashion.

The event includes a fashion parade of models wearing designs by 10 Spanish firms – Adolfo Domínguez, Roberto Verino, Sara Coleman, Fernando Lemonier, Victorio & Lucchino, Francis Montesinos, Maria Lafuente, Petro Valverde, Alicia de Bali and Iraia Oyarzabal – while also offering those attending the chance to taste tapas by Asier Abal, inspired by the fashion show.

The event is being attended by leading figures from the spheres of Spanish culture, business and politics, all of whom will be there to support an event intended to be a State action "without any political colour".
