Dr. Kiran Thakur’s journalistic career began in 1968 when he joined Tarun Bharat, a Marathi daily founded by his father, as a Sports Reporter. His keen editorial sense and innovative approach quickly earned him a leadership position, and by 1979, he became the Editor.

Under his stewardship, Tarun Bharat witnessed a groundbreaking transformation:

Modernization of Printing: In 1980, he led the shift to offset printing, improving print quality and circulation reach.

Expanding Regional Influence: By launching editions in Goa, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, and other regions, he ensured Tarun Bharat became a household name beyond Maharashtra.

Pioneering Digital Journalism: In 1999, he took the initiative to launch an internet edition of Tarun Bharat, making it one of the first regional newspapers to embrace digitalization.
