When hiring a company or doing the floor sanding yourself; do not forget that you're laying the groundwork for a properly varnished floor. This can be a reward that you will enjoy for years to come once the job is finished. Floor texturing is comparatively easy as long as you keep a few things in head. Below are a few helpful hints:

Function from coarse grain down to fine. After each pass over the floor go for a finer wheat. When by using a machine for floor sanding, be sure to keep it moving because if you let it sit down still in one area, you'll create a damage in the wood. When ever sanding parts by palm, for example in edges or around heating water lines, only move combined with the feed. If you move your sanding paper cross-grain you are going to create ugly scratches, which are nearly impossible to remove.

The final step to floor sanding is what painters call the main step in painting: removing particles. Make sure the floor is correctly dust-free. First of all use a good quality vacuum cleaner, then spread around the complete surface with a static cling cloth. In the past, varnishing the floor was quite a chore. Two, three to four tiers long, you'd be surfing a room where the complete floor was exhaling solvents toward you. Not very pleasant-but not any much longer!

Nowadays, the best varnishes are water-based. That means no solvents, no smell lingering for days, and the best? Done in a day. The high-grade water-based varnishes of today dry within hours, practically. The majority of the times, a coating will be dry to the touch in 35 minutes and can take light load after four hours. A second part of varnish can be applied after two several hours (Always check the box of your varnish for specific information about drying out times! )

That means that you can coloring a complete floor three times in one day, and the next day you can are in the room as normal. It also means that you can't let the edges of a fresh patch of car paint dry before extending the patch since you will see the edges of the first patch if it gets a chance to dry out.
