London – Traditionally, when we think of a high-quality spiced rum, the Caribbean instantly comes to mind. Thoughts of white sand beaches, steel drums, turquoise waters, and relaxing under the sun. Regardless of where you are at the moment, you just drifted away to that island paradise at the first mention of spiced rum. That is the power that this particular spirit holds over us and that is why more and more people are talking about a new rum from the Étän Rum Company.

Étän Rum is a deliciously spicy rum with a West African twist! Founded by five sisters, the Étän Rum Company is a proud, woman-owned business located right here in the UK. Laura, Briget, Noella, Caroline, and Kareen, were all raised in London but have a deep family history rooted in Cameroon, West Africa.

The five sisters created a flavourful rum using five authentic botanicals found in and around West Africa. These are Fever grass, Orange peel, Cassia, Ginger, and Vanilla, which are used to distill the base rum blend. This gives Étän Rum its distinct flavour and aroma.

Now, if you are beginning to notice a trend where the number five shows up quite a bit, you're not wrong. Even the name Étän means five in Mungaka, a language spoken by the founders’ parents, and in Bali, a town and commune in Cameroon.
