This Press Release is written to inform readers that the American Red Cross helped Andrew Lesnak get back on his feet after Hurricane Sandy.

No one who had survived it can ever forget that Hurricane Sandy slammed into the east coast almost 7 years ago. No words could ever describe the massive amounts of destruction the hurricane caused, as it had wreaked havoc on thousands of residents and their families. And, the effects are still being realized today!

The immediate hours after Hurricane Sandy hit land, the American Red Cross was on the scene, and assessing the damages of the victims. Their purpose was to promptly secure shelter, food, water and medical care. It had been projected, that nearly $312 million was donated to help these victims, during and after the storm. Andrew Lesnak was one of the survivors of Hurricane Sandy and was a benefactor of the tremendous response of the American Red Cross. He believed that their helping hand, was a major factor in getting back on his feet and try to begin a new life productively. In 1 minute, he was living in a beautiful waterfront home and managing a successful financial planning business, and the next minute everything changed in his life. They say that “a drowning man will clutch at a straw,” and that seems to be what happened here with the American Red Cross, as they became his only hope to heal, rebuild, and recover.

About Andrew Lesnak

Andrew was so grateful for this much needed support provided by the American Red Cross that he decided to commit to volunteering and donating to their organization. Unfortunately, many years after this disaster, he continues to provide victims with the shelter and required emotional support they need. In his words, “the best form of mental health therapy is to provide other victims with the stability, caring and support that had been the foundation of my recovery”.
